Using UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities

Hi there

I'm developing an iOS app that requires the use of the Camera so am using UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities in the app.xml to require still-camera (as described here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f7e64a7f12cd2dd 1867-8000.html).

I thought I'd try and test a few things with UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities  to check that these settings have an impact on the ability to deploy to a device.

All my devices have cameras to I thought I'd do a test using the "sms" entry on my iPad2.

To do this test I added the "sms" entry and did a build and deploy (to a connected iPad2 - which shouldn't support SMS) from Flash Professional.

I expected an error message saying that the app could not be published as iPad2 doesn't support sms - but I didn't ... the app deployed.

I opened the generated ipa and looked at the info.plist and do seem to have the expected entries (Required device capabilities).

So the question is ... Is UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities only applied when an app is deployed via the app store ? Is there a way of testing it locally ? Has my test shown that I'm doing things incorrectly ?
