iPad app freezes after reboot

The QA team on an AIR for iOS project I am on has encountered a very strange bug.  Unfortunately, I cannot share the app itself but I can share as much of the technical details as I need to without exposing the app itself

The basics of it are this:

The App requires a user log in.  The login credentials are validated by a remote server.  Once the user successfully logs in, I store a local value to save that they are logged in.

Once they are logged in everything is fine.  The user can explore the app & all the content within fine.  They can kill the app process & reboot the iPad and the app continues to work fine.

If the user logs out & logs back in without powering the iPad down, the app works fine.

However, if the user logs out, reboots the iPad then logs in after the iPad is rebooted, the app freezes up.  This occurs when it loading a swf packaged inside the app.  This is the only time the app freezes up  & I am at a loss how to figure out the precise cause of the problem.  When the user logs out, all I do is change the value of the local stored object & the variable for that logged in flag is not accessed at the time that the app freezes.

Anyone seen something similar?  Does anyone have any ideas how I can test this to get some insights inside the app itself for errors being thrown?  Flash Builder requires a persistent connection from when it loads the test app to my device so I cannot use that because I have to reboot the iPad to create the error.

Help would really be appreciated!  I am at a loss here.
