pauseForGCIfCollectionImminent() Garbage Collection

Dear Developers, I was hoping you can help me out with garbage collection.

 

During my game, I set the pauseforgcifcoolectionimminet to 0.25 just before the level is going to start, during selection of levels and at the end of a level (when statistics are appearing).  During the level, while gameplay is occuring, should I set this to a high number (like 0.95)?

 

The issue I am having is that there is a definate stutter in animation occuring during game play for as little as 2 seconds but sometimes as long as 4 or 5 seconds (not often, and has improved significantly since I started using the pauseforgcifcollectionimminent function).  It is the type of thing I have seen and noticed in other ipad/android games but have not thought much of it....until it started occuring in my game. 

 

It seems to happen most with IPAD4, rarely on the mini and I have not noticed it at all on a Samsung.

PS  Previously I posted that I thought I had an issue with the IPAD when it came out of sleep mode (in terms of stutter), but it was the garbage collection all along).
